When we sent a material to customer and that material got damaged or can not used for one or another reason in normal scenario we issue a credit note to the customer but in some business the customer don't need a credit note and instant of that they need the material to be replaced.

To face these type of business cases SAP has provided Subsequent Free Of Charge Of Delivery. So through Subsequent Free Of Charge Of Delivery we can replace the material to the customer instant of issuing a credit note.

Till SAP 4.7 the Document type was KN but in ECC6 its changes to SD.

As a normal business when we are replacing  a material to customer we should keep a record of the original document. For that SAP has made Reference document as mandatory for Subsequent Free Of Charge Of Delivery document type KN/SD.


Delivery & Free Of Charge Delivery

Delivery & Free Of Charge Delivery is used when we are sending a sample to customer may be for promotion for a particular material.

SAP document type is FD which is used for Delivery & Free Of Charge Delivery.
